Pune brief-by calendar

Stack of three hardcovers in white, blue and black, vexo.club on the blue spine

Pune's campaign moments, month by month, with the month to brief by so the shortlist is ready before the window opens.

The calendar

January

  • Makar SankrantiJan

Tilgul and the greeting “tilgul ghya, god god bola” — take the sweet, speak sweetly. A warm gifting moment for food and D2C brands, with the international film festival — Marathi cinema, the film-school crowd, OTT and camera-gear briefs — in the same month.

    Brief by December.

March

  • Gudi PadwaMar–Apr

The Marathi New Year and an auspicious day to buy a home, a vehicle or gold — the most natural Marathi-first creative moment of the year. Real estate, auto and jewellery brief early.

    Brief by February.

May

  • Results, admissions, the new batchMay–Aug

Board and entrance results, then admissions. A new batch lands in the Deccan, Viman Nagar and PCMC belts, and laptops, phones, banking, rentals, bikes and food delivery all brief for them.

    Brief by April.

June

  • MonsoonJun–Sep

Treks, ghat drives, Lonavala weekends, rain gear, chai-and-bhaji content and auto service camps — the most photogenic months, bright greens and wet streets. Sinhagad in the rain is a personality; treat it as a trek, never a prop.

    Brief by May.

August

  • GaneshotsavAug–Sep

The city’s biggest public festival: mandals, dhol-tasha pathaks, pandal queues, heavy footfall and heavier traffic. Telecom, mobility, F&B and auto brief for it, and the brand stays out of the idol and aarti frame.

    Brief by July.

September

  • Navratri and DasaraSep–Oct

In Maharashtra, Dasara is the traditional day to take delivery of a vehicle or buy gold or a home, which makes it the auto belt’s biggest booking window. Garba nights suit fashion, beauty and F&B.

    Brief by August.

October

  • DiwaliOct–Nov

Diwali Pahat dawn concerts, faral boxes, Diwali ank magazines and the festive sale season — the biggest retail and gifting window of the year. Lock the brief by September so filming finishes before the rush.

    Brief by September.

December

  • December in PuneDec

The marathon and half marathon, the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, the book festival at Fergusson College, and the Christmas-to-New-Year week in Camp and Koregaon Park. Runners, listeners, readers and diners in one month; brand presence at the concerts stays out of the performance frame.

    Brief by November.
