Comedy YouTubers in India fall into five kinds of channel: sketch, vlog comedy, roast and reaction, stand-up clips, and regional-language comedy, and a brand books each differently because each carries a different risk. Roasting channels are the sharpest edge of that list, and the question of who is the number one roaster in India has no answer a brand can use.

This guide comes from vexo.club, an influencer marketing agency run from one desk in Delhi NCR. It sorts comedy channels by format and language, not by a ranked list, and it names a public creator only where their own page says what they do and a news check is clean. If you came for a list of funny YouTube channels, search already returns long ones; this page is for the brand or creator deciding what to do with one.

**In short: Comedy channels in short**

1. Comedy YouTubers in India fall into five kinds of channel: sketch, vlog comedy, roast and reaction, stand-up clips, and regional-language comedy.
2. Roasting is a format, not a league: no source ranks one roaster over another, and a count says how many subscribed, not whether a channel is safe for a brand.
3. A roast or reaction channel carries three exposures once a brand's name is on the video: defamation, copyright in the clips, and language.
4. The desk steers comedy briefs towards sketch, vlog comedy and clean stand-up clips, where the script can be read before it is filmed.

## What kinds of comedy YouTubers are there in India?

Five, and the line between them is what the channel puts on screen, not how funny it is. A sketch channel acts out written scenes. A vlog-comedy channel is a person and their daily life, played for laughs. A roast or reaction channel talks over other people's videos and public figures. A stand-up channel posts sets and clips. A regional channel does any of those in a language other than Hindi or English.

**Figure: The five kinds of comedy YouTube channel, and what each means for a brand**

| | What is on screen | How a brand buys in | Main risk |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Sketch | Scripted scenes with actors | Placement inside a scripted scene | Reads as an ad; label needed in the frame |
| Vlog comedy | A person and their day | An integration in a regular upload | Family or personal news around the video |
| Roast and reaction | Other people's videos and public figures | Rarely worth buying; see below | Defamation, abuse, copyright in the clips |
| Stand-up clips | A comedian's set | A scripted integration, or a sponsored set | One line out of context |
| Regional language | Any of the above, in the audience's language | A script written in that language | Translation that shows |

*The less the channel controls its own material, the less a brand can approve in advance.*

Most channels mix two or three. A creator who started with sketches may now run a vlog channel and a clips channel under one name, so the brief asks which channel and which format, not just which creator.

## Who are the comedy YouTubers and channels the desk can point to?

The desk's own roster is the clearest answer, because every roster profile carries consent and its facts come from the record. The Comedy & Entertainment creators below carry their YouTube handle where the record has one. Each is an independent creator the desk collaborates with brief by brief, and management stays with the creator. None is described here beyond what the record says.

- [Harsh Beniwal](https://vexo.club/roster/harshbeniwal), Delhi, YouTube @TheHarshBeniwal and Instagram: a creator and actor known for comedy, relatable storytelling, entertainment content and digital series.
- [Raj Grover](https://vexo.club/roster/rajgrover_in), Delhi, YouTube @RajGrover005 and Instagram: a comedy creator known for relatable humour and everyday-life storytelling.
- [Anoop Masterji](https://vexo.club/roster/anoopmasterji), Delhi, YouTube @AnoopChahalvlogs and Instagram: a digital creator known for entertainment, lifestyle and personality-driven short-form video.
- [Sourav Joshi](https://vexo.club/roster/souravjoshivlogs), Haldwani, in English and Hindi, YouTube @souravjvlogs and Instagram: known for daily-life storytelling, family content, travel and lifestyle vlogs.
- [Aarush Bhola](https://vexo.club/roster/aarushbhola17), Delhi, YouTube @aarushbhola17 and Instagram, listed under Comedy & Entertainment.
- [Lovekesh Kataria](https://vexo.club/roster/corrupt_tuber), Haryana, on Instagram.

Subscriber counts are public and move daily, so none is typed here; the table further down reads each from YouTube and dates it. The live figure also sits on each channel's own page, and the roster profile shows the figures the desk has on record. The full set is on the [comedy and entertainment page of the roster](https://vexo.club/roster/niche/comedy-and-entertainment).

## Which comedy YouTubers work in Marathi, Hindi and regional languages?

Hindi carries the largest comedy audience on the platform, and most of the roster's comedy creators work in it, from Delhi and its surrounding states. Regional comedy is a separate audience, not a translated one. [Mandar Bhide](https://mandarbhide.com), a Pune stand-up comedian who performs in Marathi, Hindi, English and Gujarati according to his own site, keeps a YouTube channel for that work.

*The roster creators carry their YouTube handle in the record; Mandar Bhide is named from his own site. Counts are YouTube's public figures, read when the page loads and dated beneath the table. Listed in the order named, not ranked.*

For Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada or Bengali comedy, the desk names no one on this page, because none of the channels it looked at cleared both tests: a source the creator controls, and a clean news check. The rule for a brief is the same everywhere. The script is written in the language it is spoken in; the desk's notes on [regional launches in four languages](https://vexo.club/blog/regional-launch-four-languages) and [South Indian influencers](https://vexo.club/blog/south-indian-influencers) cover casting and approvals.

## Who is the number one roaster in India, and which are the best roasting channels?

There is no number one. A roasting channel is a format, not a league, and there is no official count that ranks one over another. Search results that name a number one roaster are naming whoever the writer watches. The live subscriber count for any channel is on its YouTube page, and Social Blade publishes the history, but a count says how many people subscribed, not whether the channel is safe for a brand or who watches.

The honest answer to the brand's version of the question, "which roasting channel should we sponsor?", is that most brands should not. A roast is a video that makes fun of a named person, often in abusive language, built on clips that belong to someone else. Everything a brand dislikes in a campaign sits in that format: unscripted language, a real person on the receiving end, and a feed full of reposts.

**Figure: Why there is no number one roaster**

![Quote card: a roasting channel is a format, not a league — why no comedy YouTubers in India list has a number one roaster](https://media.vexo.club/media/comedy-youtubers-roasting-channels-india-format-not-league-a2721386.png)

## Why are roasting and reaction channels hard for brands?

Three exposures, and a brand carries all of them once its name is on the video. The first is defamation: in February 2026 a Mumbai civil court restrained a YouTube roast of a named filmmaker, as [Variety India reported](https://varietyindia.com/mumbai-court-restraints-carryminati-from-making-objectionable-videos-against-karan-johar-grants-relief-to-filmmaker). The second is copyright: reaction and roast videos reuse other people's footage, and a sponsor funds the reuse. The third is language: abuse that a creator's audience accepts is the language a brand cannot be seen beside.

**Figure: Sponsoring a roast or reaction channel: what it offers and what it costs**

*Advantages*

- A young, active audience that comments and shares
- High repeat viewing and quick turnaround on a topic
- A voice the audience already trusts to be blunt

*Disadvantages*

- The script cannot be approved if the video is made in the moment
- A named person on the receiving end can bring a complaint or a suit
- Footage belongs to someone else, and the sponsor is beside it
- The abusive language that suits the format is the language a brand avoids

*The advantages are real. They are rarely worth the exposure for a brand that has a choice.*

None of this makes comedy a poor category. It makes the format a poor fit for sponsorship, and the desk steers a comedy brief towards sketch, vlog comedy and clean stand-up clips, where the script can be read before it is filmed.

**Figure: Briefing comedy so the script can be read first**

| Do | Don’t | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Steer a comedy brief to sketch, vlog comedy or a clean stand-up clip | Sponsor a roast without a written reason | |
| Ask which channel and which format, not just which creator | Treat a vlog channel and a clips channel under one name as one buy | |
| Repeat the news search the week the post goes live | Rely on the check made at the contract | |

## Are comedy Instagram accounts a different buy from comedy YouTubers?

Yes. A comedy reel is short, scripted and made for a feed that moves fast; a comedy video on YouTube is longer and watched on purpose. The funny Indian Instagram accounts that brands notice are mostly skit makers, and a brand placement inside a short skit has to survive being read at speed. Instagram suits an idea that fits in a joke; YouTube suits a product that needs a minute of explanation.

**Figure: Comedy on YouTube and on Instagram: what each is good for**

| | Shape of the content | Best for | Where the ASCI label goes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| YouTube | Longer, watched on purpose, searchable for years | A product that needs explaining; a segment inside a regular upload | Shown near the start, said aloud, repeated in the description |
| Instagram | Short, scripted, made for a fast feed | A joke-sized idea; a reminder; a launch beat | On the video, early and readable, and in the first lines of the caption |

*Many comedy creators run both. The brief says which platform carries the claim and which carries the reminder.*

The roster's one Instagram-only comedy record is [Lovekesh Kataria](https://vexo.club/roster/corrupt_tuber), based in Haryana. A brief that wants a skit and nothing else is a clean fit for a creator like that, and a brief that wants a long explainer is not.

## How do you pick a name for a comedy YouTube channel?

This is the other reader of this page: the creator deciding what to call a channel. Funny channel names and comedy channel names are among the most searched phrases in the category, and the advice is plain. Pick a name a viewer can say aloud and spell after hearing it once. Avoid a joke that dates in a year. Check that the handle is free on YouTube and Instagram together, because a brand will search for it on both.

**Figure: Before you register a comedy channel name**

- Can a viewer say it aloud and spell it after hearing it once?
- Is the same handle free on YouTube and Instagram?
- Does it avoid another brand's name, a film title or a real person's name?
- Will it still make sense if you move from sketches to vlogs?
- Does it avoid a word that makes a brand wary of appearing beside it?

*A brand reads the name before it reads the channel. A name that cannot be said, spelled or searched is a cost to every campaign.*

A creator who wants brand work should also keep the About page accurate: language, city and a way to contact a manager or the desk. The roster page shows what a brand reads first. If you want to sign with the desk and link a profile from your bio, [the creator page](https://vexo.club/for-creators) explains how.

## What does a brand check before booking a comedy YouTuber?

Five checks, with the first two finished before any rate is discussed.

1. **The format.** Sketch, vlog, stand-up clip, or roast. A roast or reaction channel is declined unless the brand asks for it knowing the exposure.
2. **The news.** A search for complaints, FIRs, court orders and platform strikes, repeated the week the post goes live.
3. **The audience.** Comedy audiences are young, and some channels are watched by children. Read the audience report for age and geography; the method is in [how to check an influencer's audience before you pay](https://vexo.club/blog/checking-an-influencers-audience).
4. **The label.** A paid skit carries the ASCI disclosure on the video and in the caption. [ASCI disclosure for brands](https://vexo.club/blog/asci-disclosure-rules-for-brands) sets out who labels what and who checks.
5. **The rights.** Whether the brand may run the clip as an ad, for how long, and under whose handle; see [usage rights](https://vexo.club/blog/usage-rights).

On YouTube the buying choice is between a segment in a regular upload and a whole video about the product; the desk's [teardown of both](https://vexo.club/blog/youtube-integration-or-dedicated-video) covers when each fits, and for comedy the dedicated video is usually the wrong buy. The wider category notes are on [YouTube influencer marketing](https://vexo.club/youtube-influencer-marketing).

**Figure: From a comedy brief to a post that has been checked**

1. Brief — Product truths, and the lines that cannot be said
2. Shortlist — Format, language and a news check on each name
3. Script — Written by the creator, in the audience's language
4. Label and claim check — Desk reads the ASCI label; brand reads the claim
5. Post and review — A second news and label check in the first day

*The brand owns the claim, the creator owns the joke, and the desk reads the label before anyone approves.*

To brief a comedy campaign, [send it to the desk](https://vexo.club/contact). For a brief in the capital region, the page on [influencer marketing in Delhi](https://vexo.club/influencer-marketing-company/delhi) covers the city. The desk runs the checks and says plainly which of them a given creator will not accept.

## Questions brands ask

**Who is the number one roaster in India?** No one holds the title. Roasting is a format, there is no official ranking, and the live subscriber counts on each channel's YouTube page say how many people subscribed, not whether the channel is safe for a brand. For most brands the better question is whether to sponsor a roast at all.

**Can a brand sponsor a roasting channel?** It can, and the exposure is heavy: defamation if a named person is the target, copyright in the clips, and the language the format runs on. The desk steers comedy briefs to sketch, vlog comedy and clean stand-up clips, and treats a roast sponsorship as an exception that needs a written reason.

**Which comedy YouTubers can I book through vexo.club?** Through the desk, a brief can name any of the Comedy & Entertainment creators on the roster, most of whom are also on YouTube. Each is an independent creator, so the desk takes the brief to the creator or their management, who confirm availability and terms.

**Does a comedy skit need an ASCI disclosure?** Yes, when it is paid or the brand has any material connection to it, including free product. The label goes on the video, early and readable, and in the first lines of the caption or description. The desk reads each draft for it before approval.

**Are comedy YouTubers or Instagram comedians better for a launch?** Neither is better in general. Instagram suits an idea that fits inside a joke, and YouTube suits a product that needs a minute of explanation. Many creators run both, so the brief names the platform that carries each part of the message.
